Leda and the Swan c1508-15 by Italian Painter Francesco Melzi (1491 - 1568); who was part of the High Renaissance Art Movement and was a student of Leonardo da Vinci; is credited with being the first person to collect, organize and preserve Leonardo da Vinci's notes on painting and transformaing this collection into the manuscript known as the Codex Urbinas.
This painting of Leda and the Swan is based on a lost work created by Leonardo Da Vinci and there have been other works that were copies and variations on Leonardo's from artist like Il Sodoma, Cesare da Sesto and Giampietrino.
