This portrait of Mrs. Thomas Scott Jackson, shows her standing in front of a large tree with plants or vines growing by it's large trunk; while light streaming in from her right illuminates her figure and the silk white dress she is wearing with a silk gold sash and an additional green embroidered shawl.
In the background to her right one can also see a beautiful landscape that is accented with large blue and white clouds overhead.
