Sierra Nevada c1871-73 by American Painter Albert Bierstadt (1830 - 1902); was a Prussian born German American who was part of the Hudson River School Movement, known for his lavish sweeping landscapes of the American West.

This is a breathtaking grand view of the Sierra Nevada located in California; with a massive cloud accented mountain terrain rugged backdrop; enhances the beauty and softness of a calm blue-green lake that comes up against a beautiful shoreline where antelope are gathered.

While one antelope drinks from the lake, two others watch on in grandness of tall redwood trees that line the shore among the vegetation as evergreens line the slope up into the forest beyond.
