Scan from color transSummer, New York c1931 by American Painter Leon Kroll (1884 - 1974), a figurative painter and lithographer of the early 20th century.

This is a beautiful art deco painting scene, overlooking central park from an open window in a New York apartment.

In the apartment we find three young ladies; one is sitting on a large red velour arm chair and is fully dressed in a white dress with a sleeveless, button less blouse, with a red hair clip on the top of her head and a green bow tied around the lower portion of her long hair.

The second young lady is sitting on the arm of the chair besides the first and she is wearing a two piece yellow outfit that consist of a long skirt and open blouse that is slight closed off with a bowed black cord, revealing part of her left breast. She is also wearing an orange hair clip on the top of her head and a gold ring with onyx gemstone on the pinky of her left hand white is fold and touching her face.

The third young lady is completely nude lying down on a white sheet that partially covers the decorative couch she is on, with her head resting on a pillow, while she sleeps the afternoon away with her right arm covering her hair and her left wrist rest in the palm of her right hand.

Near the window is a plate of fruit consisting of three bananas, three pears, a peach and maybe a mango that is position on a small round table, and beside the plate is another piece of mango fruit.

As we look out the window, we can see the landscape of central park with its vast lawn and trees, a building, a horse trail with one person riding a horse, two people walking along the side walk, and more people in the far distance walking along a path.

Then the piece is completed with the New York skyline that is populated by the tall buildings of the time including what looks like the Empire State Building.
