The Honorable Caroline Upton c1800 by British Painter Thomas Lawrence (1769 - 1830); a child prodigy who at the age of ten was supporting his family with his artwork and was consider a leading portrait painter of his time.

This portrait painting of a young lady is reminiscent of a piece of cameo jewelry as the artist has painted it as a half bust portrait in a side view.

Her brown hair is folded up toward the back and a large dark brown band with orange accents along parts of its edges is tied around her hair from the top of her head to the base of the back of her head.

She is wearing a classic white blouse, which folds across her chest and there is a pendant with two rubies that hang at the center just below her breast line.

Over the long sleeve of her right arm, above the elbow is an gold arm band that is engraved with a mystical scene that contains four figures and a large face that has a fearful look on it, in which two of the figures are standing in front or; while a female figure sits on bench of sorts playing a lyre a short distance from them; and another, which appears to be an angel flies above and behind her.
