This is a wonderful portrait of the Reventlow Sisters, Malvina Anny Louise (1831 - 1857) and Hilda Sophie Charlotte (1828 - 1900); daughters of Frederik Detlef, Count of Reventlow, who was the Royal Chargé d’Affaires and Consul General of Denmark.
The sisters are depicted standing arm in arm in a large garden by a balcony with a vast terrain behind them, and a large tree to their right just behind them; and to the left a beautiful blue sky with billowing white clouds with accents of yellow sunlight.
Both sisters are wearing white dresses with Countess Malvina Anny Louise having a large white silk sash folded over her waist, and her sister Countess Hilda Sophie Charlotte wearing a pink shawl and pink silk sash tied about her waist.
Malvina is also wearing a a gold string bracelet wrapped around her right wrist that also has a heart shaped jewelry component that connects both ends of the string bracelet; while her sister Hilda holds with her finger through a loop a fashion accessory with tassels at the top.
