Description
The Triumph of Frederik Hendrik, Prince of Orange c1652 by Flemish Painter Jacob Jordaens I (1593 - 1678); draughtsman and tapestry designer known for his genre scenes and portraits. After Peter Paul Rubens and Anthony van Dyck, he was considered the leading Flemish Baroque painter of his day.
An impressive and extremely faciful painting as Frederik Hendrik the Prince of Orange is driven in a golden chariot by four white horses with his soldiers, cheering him, the towns folk cheering him as well as the very heavens and the angels cheering him and offering him blessings; and the bounty of his victory.
With flowers and fruits adorning great gold accented columns Frederik is paraded between two gold statues of himself; one on his right shows him in princely adorned armor with a laurel leaf crown on his head in full regalia; while the one on his left shows him in his battle amor.
This is a retouched digital art old masters reproduction of a public domain image.
