The Young Lady With A Rose c1916 by French Painter Emile Vernon (1872 - 1919); who specialized in painting watercolors, with his main subject being women and children in bright and colorful rural settings. He trained under William Bouguereau and Auguste Trouphème in the School of Fine Arts in Paris France.
This is a portrait of a young lady elegantly dressed that is standing in a lush garden.
She is wearing around her neck a gold string pearl necklace composed of at least 10 round white pearls linked by gold chain that terminate at the center with a large teardrop white pearl; with a matching white pearl gold ring on the fourth finger of her right hand.
Her brown hair with blonde accents at the edges, flows down past her wasit, and his held in the hand of her upright folded left arm and is tied off at the back with a large blue and violet bow.
She is wearing a sheer white silk dress with a blue sash around the high waist area and a dark brown fur shawl in her folded right arm; with her right hand pressed against her chest holding a pink rose.
