Joseph Roettiers (1635 - 1703) by French Engraver Cornelis Vermeulen (1644 - 1708-09) c1700 from a painting by French Painter Nicolas De Largillerre (1656 - 1746), one of Europes premier portrait painters as well as an historical and still life painter during the late 17th century and the first 40 years of the 18th century.
Joseph Roettiers was a Flemish Medallist or Medalist (an engraver or designer of medals), working in England and France, and a member of the celebrated Roettier family of Goldsmiths, Silversmiths and Engravers.
