Boreas and Orithya Etching by German Painter Heinrich Lossow (1843 - 1897), and illustrator and son of sculptor Arnold Hermann Lossow (1805 - 1874).
This is a Greek Mythology etching of Boreas the representation of the North Wind embracing and carrying aloft the beautiful Orithya one of the daughters of Erechtheus, King of Athens.
According to the legend they lived in Thrace as King and Queen of the winds and had two sons Calais and Zetes, as well as two daughters Cleopatra and Chione.
